Description
To accompany our total occlusion eyepatch, we have developed a kit that will help kids participate actively in their own treatment. All of the products have been created to make the treatment fun for the children, encouraging them to participate and reinforcing their self-esteem. When the child is an active part of the treatment, everyone benefits – from their parents to the eye health professionals that treat and give them support. We developed our products so that a child will approach the treatment willingly, even joyfully, instead of feeling marginalized by the eye condition. The child is more likely to adhere to the treatment as prescribed by the eye doctor, which means that it in turn is more likely to be successful.

1 DrPatch total occlusion silicone eyepatches
This eye patch blocks vision completely, giving the eye the experience of total occlusion. The patch is attached to the inside of the eyeglass frame with a suction cup, and it has a universal shape that adapts to most faces and eye shapes.
We also developed this aesthetic product to make it as discreet as possible. We have designed something that is comfortable, safe, flexible, light, resistant, reusable, and easy to adjust any number of times.
Our eye patch is colourful, embossed with the DrPatch logo, and has ventilation holes so that air can circulate. It’s made of silicone, to replace eye patches with straps or ones made from cloth that are juxtaposed with the eyeglass frames.
They are traditionally worn on the outside of the glasses, where ours is designed to fit inside. Our product replaces the eye patches made from adhesive bandages that adhere to the skin, close the eye uncomfortably and can actually be painful to wear.
Combined with our illustrated partial occlusion eye patches, they are a sure way to motivate your child to comply with his eye treatment!

Treatment tracking booklet
This booklet is a very practical tool for eye health professionals, parents and children. It has space to record the profile of the child’s visual health, and follow the evolution of the condition; diagrams of the anatomy of the eye; a calendar where the child can place a sticker (the stickers are provided) for each day of treatment and make a different mosaic for each month; another calendar for keeping track of appointments with eye health professionals; definitions for amblyopia, myopia, hyperopia, and strabismus; pages for notes and messages of encouragement from family, friends and health professionals; finally, a space for noting the addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses for doctors and clinics. |

One cute DrPatch stuffed toy
Hand made in Quebec, the DrPatch stuffed toy is without a doubt the most popular element with the kids! The company’s mascot wears an eye patch: this is another way to make wearing a patch seem more ‘normal.’ It also has a strap, like something that a super hero would wear! Machine washable! |

One print microfiber cloth for cleaning the child’s glasses
It’s not just colourful and practical: the cloth reminds the child that he/she needs to clean his/her glasses before the daily routine of sticking the eye patch on. |

One booklet with visual games
Our booklet is filled with fun games. They allow the child to actively participate in his/her own treatment by doing visual exercises. In it we find pages with mazes, comparing 2 drawings to find the differences, connect-the-dots, and colouring pages. Most of the characters presenting the games have glasses or eye patches so that the children can identify with them, and not feel like they’re the only ones with their condition. |

The storybook
This booklet tells the story of a young prince who needs to wear an eye patch to help his vision… Once more, we want the child to gain a sense of accomplishment. |
